Abstract

In Texas, a law criminalizing possession of syringes and fentanyl test strips was allowed to stand by the legislature, despite the fact that the federal government not only endorses but also funds programs supporting these. An article published in The Texas Tribune focuses on the problems that harm reduction organizations have operating in that state, which has its share of opioid overdoses. Texas also has the country's first “fetal heartbeat” law, which bans abortion after a fetal heartbeat can be detected. https://www.texastribune.org/2022/06/13/texas‐opioid‐overdose‐harm‐reduction/
