Abstract

Boston—Science policy-makers in Washington have been urging professors to focus more on science literacy for the vast majority of students who won't themselves become researchers. A new program at Northeastern University in Boston does just that by integrating science and the humanities. Geology professors are working on their students' writing skills, while music professors incorporate the physics of sound in their classes.
