Abstract

This paper examines three particular motions, balloting, spinning, and nutation, that may arise during the transit of the projectile within the barrel of a linear induction launcher (LIL). Experimental evidence in a low-velocity LIL confirms the theoretical predictions.< <ETX xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">></ETX>
