Abstract

This will be the last issue of Holocaust and Genocide Studies appearing under the name of longtime Editor-in-Chief Dr. Richard Breitman. On behalf of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, I would like to acknowledge his exceptional contributions to the field of Holocaust studies through his editorship of this journal and beyond. Breitman became co-editor of Holocaust and Genocide Studies in 1994, working alongside founding editor Dr. Yehuda Bauer of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. In 1996, Breitman succeeded the latter as editor-in-chief. Under his guidance, the journal became the leading publication in the growing, interdisciplinary field of Holocaust studies. An excellent editor and shepherd of the peer review process, Breitman assured that what was published was of the highest quality.
