Abstract
The behaviour of Kondo impurities interacting with hole-doped cis-Polyacetylene is investigated using a worldline quantum Monte Carlo algorithm. For next-nearest-neighbour impurities, collective anti-ferromagnetic spin fluctuations are found. These fluctuations are suppressed by Kondo localisation as the temperature is lowered. For larger impurity separations, no collective spin fluctuations are observed, indicating a short-ranged indirect exchange mechanism in the current model and parameter regime. Bipolarons and collective spin fluctuations can thus co-exist.
