Abstract

The assumption of parallel impurity and host transition moments made in the existing theory of localized electronic states of impurities in molecular crystals is shown to be unnecessary for certain one- and two-dimensional model crystals. The dependence of localized impurity-state energy and radius on the angle between host and impurity moments is calculated for a linear crystal.
