Abstract
Ladder and chain perturbations in the two-dimensional Ising model are studied using a weak-coupled expansion for the local magnetisation on the corresponding quantum Ising chains in a transverse field. Using a duality transformation, these models are shown to display different critical exponents for their local order and disorder parameters.
