Abstract

The impurity effect of 3d transition metals on the anisotropic magnetoresistivity ratio and saturation magnetization of the 82Ni-Fe alloy film has been investigated at room temperature. The anisotropic magnetoresistivity is decreased by the addition of a third element regardless of its species and this decrease is strongly dependent on the magnetic moment of the alloys. The spin-orbit coupling is the most likely mechanism to explain the anisotropic magnetoresistivity of these films.
