Abstract

The author shows using Hubbard's model that transition metal impurities in a ferromagnet will tend to suppress ferromagnetism in the strong correlation limit. Secondly they show that paramagnetic impurities in an itinerant electron antiferromagnet decrease the Neel temperature in a similar fashion to paramagnetic impurities in a superconductor.
