Abstract
The problem of impulse control is considered for a three-dimensional model of free convection of a viscous incompressible fluid. It is shown that, under a suitable control of the temperature, no singularities are developed over time in solutions to the Navier-Stokes equations. An optimality system is constructed whose solution is globally regular in time.
