Abstract

Rajā 'khawf is theo-optimism that is a concept of Sufism in an effort to maintain egohood (unification) with God. There is no other ways than the khawf to solve the evil problem where a s ā lik has proved it even the closed s ā lik make mur ā qiyah (continuous improvement) which is closed because glorifying oneself to God leads to good asceticism and aesthetics. This paper is carried out through a qualitative research approach using critical interpretative. The sign of rajā 'is the growth of religious spirituality. The Khawf aspire to the future of modernity which is affiliated with the dignity of the religious theo-humanism. Kant's and Freud's thinkings requires that modern people have what pleasure in hands expertise (what they have) while al-Ghazālī invites happiness not from the influence of working hands. Rajā 'and khawf for modern people can choose between the characters of mutasawwifīn , malāmatiyah and qalandariyah with the advantages and new obligations which are used as routines.
