Abstract
The article emphasizes that quality education is the key to successful learning for secondary and higher education students. School should provide the necessary knowledge and skills for further education. However, there is a need to update the content and technologies of education to develop students' key competencies, which will help them succeed in life. Particular emphasis is placed on the importance of improving the quality of higher education, as many graduates do not meet employers' requirements. It is emphasized that improving the quality of education is a priority for the state, and quality education is a competitive advantage for the economy. However, there are unresolved issues in the Ukrainian education system. The author sees the need to introduce public control, autonomy of educational institutions, advanced training of teachers, motivation to innovate, introduction of educational institution rankings.
