Abstract

BACKGROUND: Quality improvement and patient safety (QIPS) principles are a curriculum requirement of the Residency Review Committee for pediatric residency programs. Our institution has a formal quality improvement curriculum, but no formal patient safety curriculum. Furthermore, we lack a validated system of evaluating resident knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors (KAB) related to QIPS.
