Abstract

Over the past twelve years, researchers at Baikov Institute of Metallurgy and Materials Science and PAO Severstal’ have introduced the problem of small- and medium-diameter electrowelded straight-seam pipe on PAO Severstal’ equipment. In the present work, the deformation in the shaping process is investigated. An algorithm for calculating the groove configuration in shaping is developed. The setup of the support and welding system is discussed. The conditions of high-frequency current welding are established. A method is developed for calculating the width of the initial blank in the production of pipe by different shaping methods. The shaping of rectangular pipe from round welded pipe in the electrowelding line is considered. New approaches intended to improve pipe production provide economic benefits in industrial practice.
