Abstract

The article describes the problem of regulating the density of a raw roller in a sawing gin of the DP series. In this work, the scheme of interaction between the saw and the seed roll is theoretically investigated; three states of the capture of the free end of the fiber during movement with friction are studied. The influence of the density of the seed roll on the load current of the motor of the saw cylinder of the saw gin was studied experimentally. Regression equations are obtained for various industrial cotton grades. The graphs of the dependence of the density of the seed roll and the productivity of the gin, the staple length of the fiber, as well as the mass fraction of defects and trash in the fiber on the load current and moisture content of the seed cotton are plotted. The results of the study were used to improve the regulation of cotton feeding in order to maintain the optimal density of the seed roll, which made it possible to preserve the quality of the fiber and seeds while increasing the productivity of the machine.
