Abstract

This study analyzes the Industrial Property System (IPS) of Iran and proposes solutions for improving the system. Documentary research and a comparative study of the South Korea IPS are the main sources of information. The results indicate that although Iran has taken important steps towards improving its IPS, there are lingering problems. The organizational set-up of the IPS needs restructuring. Moreover, intellectual property (IP) management professionals and policy makers will benefit from IP training programs. Finally, IP policy making and IPS reform should be based on the needs of the industry.
