Abstract

Results of calculation of the recommended length of a skid braking cars on non-mechanized brake positions humps in modern conditions of their work. As influencing factors are considered: the heat flux in the contact area of the «wheel-rail», the coefficient of sliding friction, critical temperature, speed of movement of cars moving with a hump, and others. Recommendations to limit the length of a skid when changing different factors to ensure the safety of rolling stock that is processed by the non-mechanized sorting slides, and driving safety

Summary
