Abstract

With the global desire for decarbonization, hydrogen production should become one of the dynamically developing areas of energy resource processing. For CHPP-21 of TGC-1, the possibility of integrating and operating of a methane steam reforming unit to switch the plant from cogeneration to trigeneration production was considered. CHPP-21 includes 5 steam turbines T-100/120-130-3. A basic thermal circuit of a trigeneration power plant was developed. The impact of the transfer of a thermal power plant from cogeneration to trigeneration on its characteristic operating modes was assessed. In the winter mode with low heating loads, fuel savings when integrating the reforming unit into the CHPP amounted to 2.5%. The coefficient of fuel heat utilization increased from 78.61% to 80.63%. In summer mode, fuel economy was 13.8%. The coefficient of fuel heat utilization increased from 62.26% to 72.25%.
