Abstract
A numerical parametric study is performed of how radiation from seismic vibrators is scattered on seismic barriers. It is shown that these barriers can be effectively used both as insulation from surface waves and for focusing body waves, increasing by many times the flow of mechanical energy. This feature can be useful not only for seismic sounding of the Earth, but for producing vibrational effects on oil reservoirs as well, in order to increase the production of hydrocarbons that are hard to recover.
