Abstract

ABSTRACT Organizational behavior management techniques were utilized to improve job performance among staff in a community mental health setting. After interviewing individual staff, job descriptions were clarified. Then a package of feedback, goal setting and praise from supervisors was presented in multiple baseline fashion across job tasks within an organizational unit. For two of the three targeted tasks, implementation of this intervention package was followed by improvement and maintenance of performance for more than two years. Costs were minimized and the intervention components became part of the normal day-to-day operations of the agency.
