Improving Mathematics Learning Outcomes through Student Teams Achievement Divisions Learning in Grade I Elementary School Students

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to improve the student learning outcomes in mathematics through the aplycation of the STAD type cooperative learning model. This type of research is Classroom Action Research. This research consisted of two cycles. The subject of this research were the 1st grade students of SD Negeri 3 Kalikotes with total of 29 students, consisting of 10 male students and 19 female students. The data collecting technique used observation, test, and documentation. The instruments of this research were observation sheets and test. Data analysis in this research used qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis. The result showed that the use of the STAD type cooperative learning model could improve student learning outcomes, this can be seen from the acquisition of class average scores from student test results at each stage of the cycle. The increase is, the class average value in pre-cycle is 54,48, in cycle I is 70,52 and in cycle II is 82,59.
