Abstract

In this work, we have optimized the passivation process to improve the lifetime and reliability of organic light-emitting diode (OLED) devices. A hydrophobic polymer (HPP) was used as the passivation layer and characteristics of the optimized OLED devices with the film were investigated. The HPP films exhibited excellent permeating barrier properties toward water because they were hydrophobic and had low surface energy. In addition, in OLEDs, the HPP films prevented darkspot growth on the emitting area.
