Abstract

Acute dyspnoea can prove to be a frequently diagnostic dilemma for emergency and internal medicine physicians. Our busy emergency department often uses tests with low specificity such as D-dimer and troponin levels, often extending the patients’ stay in ED without providing a unifying diagnosis. Our institution at The Canberra Hospital has created a dyspnoea service to address this issue.
