Abstract

Social determinants of health (SDOH) have been defined by WHO as “the non-medical factors that influence health outcomes.”1 Conditions in which people are born, work, and live have important influence on their health status and health inequities at the population level. This Pharmacy Today article will review SDOH and their impact on health outcomes as well as provide pharmacists and technicians with tools and resources to address SDOH as part of their practice.
