Abstract

This paper presents novel design of comb decimation filters using a certain class of symmetrical polynomials. More specifically, the symmetrical polynomials with all zeros on the unit circle are considered. First, simple introduction to comb decimation filter is presented, indicating its advantages and disadvantages. Next, the class of symmetrical polynomials is introduced. Finally, it is demonstrated how this class of polynomials can be efficiently used to improve the frequency characteristic of comb filter. The method is illustrated with two examples.
