In sum, the atlas is an important cartographic and geographical work with a few shortcomings. For geographers in other developing countries the atlas is a symbolic milestone; for the producers of the atlas, it is a mark of excellence. The work deserves a place in major libraries to be available to persons who wish to acquire in-depth knowledge of India or to do research on the multifaceted spatial characteristics of the country.
