Abstract

Many distinguished Petri net languages or models have proved their advantages in modelling concurrent/distributed object systems in the past decade, however, none of these languages or models exploits the feature that the construction of Petri nets can also benefit from object modelling technology. In this paper, we illustrate that the combinability of Petri nets can be improved with the inheritance, aggregation and association relations. The approach we employ is to take ordinary Petri nets as usual objects with explicit methods and attributes identified and then integrate them into the object modelling framework.
