Abstract

In this research Symposium, we will discuss the improvements in access to care within a multidisciplinary neurobehavioral psychiatry care continuum within the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC) for youth and adults with a diagnosis of ASD, intellectual disability, or other neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs). Individuals with NDDs have special healthcare needs and often face numerous barriers to care, leading to healthcare disparities. This care continuum was initially developed in 2014 and includes outpatient psychiatric services, therapies (including speech, occupational, and behavior therapy), diagnostic services, and medical genetics in a co-located space supported by a dedicated team of nurses, medical assistants, behavior support personnel, social workers, and care managers.
