Abstract

In this volume of The Journal, Soukup et al1 published their assessment of cholesterol-screening practices among pediatric primary care providers (PCPs) and explored barriers and facilitators to successful implementation. It should be noted that recommendations for cholesterol screening are not new. As early as 1992, the US National Cholesterol Education Program advocated cholesterol screening,2 and by 1998, the World Health Organization recognized hypercholesterolemia as a worldwide public health priority.
