Abstract

The inclusive model of semileptonic decays B→ℓvX can be appreciably improved by considering the observed dependence on hadronic invariant mass m x, in addition to the lepton energy spectrum that is usually discussed. The parameter freedom is thereby reduced, but the model can successfully reproduce the D and D ∗ enhancements in the m x distribution, while simultaneously fitting the lepton energy distribution. With these improvements the model provides a more reliable basis for determining KM matrix elements from inclusive data.
