Abstract

Birth order plays a substantial role in a child‘s life which leaves a significant impact throughout his life. The first-borns possess a unique position in the family and possess the first choice of niche in the family system. The niche is often reflected as unyielding diligence in an attempt to please their parents. Similarly all children have different life skills according to their birth orders and by their family structures too. The purpose of the study was to examine the impact of Life Skills after studying the subject among students belonging to joint & nuclear family structure and students having different birth orders and to study the difference in Life Skills Education learning on the basis of family structure and birth orders. In the present study the total of 400 students from 16 Government Senior Secondary Schools of Rajasthan were examined. Among them245 students were from joint families and 155 students from nuclear families were assessed. The number of first born students was 183, second 88 and later born was 129. Results showed that there is a significant difference in LS‘s at pretest phase among the adolescent children having different birth order and this difference multiplies after posttest.
