Abstract

A geological complex near-surface traditionally yields poor quality first arrival picks in land sesmic surveys making use of vibroseis sources. Uphole surveys can reduce the uncertainty, but are costly to undertake. Simultaneous joint inversion used as a static solver in combination with non-seismic data can reduce the number of uphole shots and improve the computed near- surface static solution.
