Abstract

Summary Approximations inherent in the explicit method of digital simulation are analyzed. It is demonstrated that the lower-order approximations may be avoided by placing the electrode in the middle of the first volume element rather than at its boundary. This results in improved simulations. Chronoamperometry, autocatalytic chronoamperometry, and chronopotentiometry are simulated for demonstration purposes.
