Circulating fluids through materials.-Hanks are carried on a frame, forming a more or less solid block of material, one or more charged frames being lowered into a vat. for example two in a double vat; the blocks of hanks are oscillated while the treating liquor is circulated through them. The double vat A may be formed by two parallel partitions D and is provided with the usual circulating - means P, P , P , which is fed from the space between the partitions D, and which feeds the parts of the containing - portions of the vat A below false bottoms A , or vice versa. The frames or cages C are suspended from arms B connected to rising and falling arms B , levers B , and eccentric gear B which provides vertical and, if desired, also horizontal oscillation of the frames.
