Abstract

Elevated levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS) induce cellular injury and promote airway inflammation and hyperresponsiveness (AHR) in animal models of asthma. CDDO-TFEA, a compound that upregulates transcriptional anti-oxidant response elements (ARE) through the Nrf2 pathway, may be useful in protecting against oxidative injury in asthma.
