Abstract

This study aimed to propose a design direction for external spaces of movement in apartment complex in the future by analyzing problems in use and needs in view of the users of the external space. The scenario-based user experience design technique was used. Of brands apartments ranking within the top 10 as a contractor mainly in the metropolitan area, the apartments aged 1 year ~ 3 years on the basis of 2014 were selected. A persona was developed through a observation survey of the spaces and facilities for the 5 apartment complexes selected as subjects. The survey subjects meeting the developed persona were selected and observed. Then, a scenario was created according to the types and characteristics of the users. Problems and requirements found in the created scenario were analyzed to derive improvements. The results of this study were as follows; To implement truly car-free apartment complex, it was required to guide service vehicles (cars for private educational institutions, courier service cars, motorcycle, etc.) to the underground. In addition, the underground parking space needs to be improved. the spatial planning is necessary that matches with changes and purposes of life styles of the users.
