Abstract

This research aims to build a framework for strategies to improve the welfare of farmers, related to the condition of farmers, agricultural stakeholders, strategies carried out, and performance measures, to provide an overview of strategic management trends in improving welfare. farmer. This research relied on library studies from articles on socioeconomic aspects and agricultural policy in Indonesia. Institutional, commercial, agricultural production, agricultural commodity needs, agricultural regulation, finance, risk management, social demographics, agricultural technology, ecology, are conditions that affect the welfare of Indonesian farmers. Identified farmer welfare strengthening strategies are intensification, extensification, business diversification, marketing and supply chain management, partnerships and institutions, technology adoption, risk management and finance. The implementation of this strategy requires synergy of agricultural stakeholders: central and regional governments, industry, commodity traders, financial institutions, cooperatives, and agricultural institutions. Measures of performance of these strategies are increased productivity, cost reduction, product quality improvement, broader market access, financial stability, risk protection, better working conditions, differentiation of sources of income, and environmental sustainability.
