Abstract

For real time measurements of small displacements and deformations, dependence of the Young's fringes' visibility on an applied voltage to a BSO-PROM device, which is used as a recording device of the specklegram in the speckle photography, has been investigated. It is experimentally shown that the Young's fringes' visibility is improved by changing the applied voltage to the PROM device in the readout operation. This improvement is useful to accurate measurements of displacements in the speckle photography when the amount of the exposure is small and will be able to shorten cycle times of measurements.
