Abstract

Abstract A study was made to retard the oxidation of SO2 to SO3 over V2O5–TiO2 catalysts developed for the NOx reduction in flue gases. An addition of oxide, which has small amounts of excess oxygen, to the V2O5–TiO2 was proved to be effective. Especially, the GeO2–V2O5–TiO2 revealed a high NOx conversion and a retardation for the SO3 formation.
