Abstract

SiC nanowire-modified biomass porous carbon materials (GF-SiC) have been developed by uniformly encapsulating SiC nanowires on the surface of porous carbon. GF-SiC exhibits remarkable wave absorption properties of a maximum reflection loss of -60.72 dB at a thickness of 1.74 mm and a wide effective absorption bandwidth (RL≤-10 dB) of 5.52 GHz at a thickness of 2.04 mm. The improved wave-absorbing performance of GF-SiC can be attributed to the three-dimensional porous structure, interfacial polarization effects caused by encapsulated SiC nanowires, and improved impedance matching. This work provides a new idea for the development of low-cost environmental electromagnetic wave absorbing materials.
