Abstract

For a distribution transformer, a suggested thermal model is analyzed. In order to attain temperature distribution in three-phase transformer (250 KVA 11/.416 KV core type, mineral oil) by ‘COMSOL Software,’ a 30 simulation was performed by a transient analysis in the light of Finite Element Method (FEM). Meanwhile, using the proposed model, the oil type effects on the HOST are examined. Two types of nano particles (Al2O3) and (CuO) with a volume concentration of 0.3, 0.5, 0.8 percent, where the maximum temperature decreased by around 9 °C to 0.8 percent of Al2O3, were used to measure the effect of nanoparticles on the heat transfer process by replacing the insulation oil with nano fluid. In contrast to realistic calculation, the current model has successfully achieved the expectation of temperature distribution at every location in the transformer.
