Abstract

In this paper, the improvement of FDTD calculation accuracy for printed antennas is proposed. The quasi-static approximation of electromagnetic field was incorporated into the FDTD update equation by using the integral form of the Faraday's law. A few examples of the printed antennas were analyzed by using the proposed method, and the significant improvement of the calculation accuracy has been achieved even if the same cell size as original FDTD is used. Furthermore, the validity of proposed method for antenna sets incline for FDTD cell is also indicated.
