Abstract

Tubular solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) have many desirable characteristics over planar SOFCs. In this study, microtubular SOFCs with 1.6-mm diam have been successfully fabricated and tested in the intermediate-temperature region under . The cell consists of doped ceria (GDC) as an anode (support tube), GDC as an electrolyte, and (LSCF)–GDC as a cathode. The single tubular cell with 1.6-mm diam and 1-cm length generated about 140, 300, and at 500, 550, and with fuel. This indicates that a cell stack of cell arrangement whose volume is about can possibly generate 3.5, 7.5, and at 500, 550, and using the microtubular cells.
