Abstract

with the decrease of water resources in Iran, using of hydropower for generation of electricity in the future will be limited. Conversion of simple cycle to combined cycle in Iran's power station is inevitable. The change of power generation cause reducing of total system inertia, Primary frequency control will be more difficult. Controlling of frequency is an essential requirement of electrical network stability. Evaluating of contribution of steam turbine (ST) combined cycle power plant (CCPP) of Primary frequency responses without participate of hydropower, requires an accurate integrated model of CCPP. In this paper, primary frequency control (PFC) with the participation of ST in CCPP has been analyzed. Integration model of CCPP, based on 2 case studies are extracted. A Simulation model for evaluation of primary frequency response is done in MATLAB software. It is observed; the contribution of ST of CCPP in PFC substantial improved the overall system inertia.
