Abstract

The effect of low frequency liquid velocity pulses on liquid–solid and gas–liquid mass transfer in three-phase fixed and fluidized beds is investigated. Mass transfer enhancement was expected, but it is shown that the type of pulses used in this study has no significant effect on mass transfer.
