Abstract

A Data Centre design is based on a network of computing and storage resources that enable the delivery of shared applications and data for 24 hours daily has been chosen in this study. In order to maintain a constant cool temperature and level of moisture, precision air conditioning system are installed since the electrical components produce heat when operating. This containment currently installed beside the racks and make the cool air specifically pass through the equipment. In this study, the effect of fixed size of airflow-trip at three different configurations which involve a single, double and triple airflow-trip has been simulate using ANSYS software. From the results comparison, double airflow-trip configuration produces the best result in term of air flow velocity and temperature inside the containment through outlet as compared to others configuration. Velocity flow distribution also sensitive to the airflow-trip height. Overall, adding the airflow-trip has improved the airflow and temperature distribution.
