Abstract

Background: Transcatheter aortic valve insertion (TAVI) has been shown to improve symptoms, left ventricular systolic function, and mortality in high surgical risk symptomatic patients with aortic stenosis. Several small cohort studies have demonstrated improvement in diastolic function following TAVI. This retrospective, single-centre study was performed to evaluate such improvement for the first time in an Australian cohort.
