Abstract

Brushless DC motor has many sorts of problems in practice, for example, the most prominent are large overshoot and adjustment time is long. In this paper, a controller is proposed to solve these problems. Firstly, the structure and the working principle of BLDCM are analyzed. The double closed loop speed regulation system is simulated, including the speed loop with PI control, fuzzy adaptive PID control simulation, and disadvantages analysis. According to the theory of variable domain thoughts, the variable universe fuzzy adaptive PID control system is presented. Particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm is applied to identify the optimal scaling factor. The experimental results show that the variable universe fuzzy adaptive PID control system used in the speed loop has faster response speed and precision in MatLab environment. Our proposed model has good adaptive ability.
