Abstract

The present paper was assume to develop a potential adsorbent and to work the adsorption reaction captivated in the removal of Steriod Hormone such as 17β-estradiol (E2) from aqueous solution using the γ-Fe2O3/NiO nanocomposites. The adsorbent was characterized with different techniques such XRD, SEM, TEM and UV–vis DRS analysis. Utilizable factors thus pH, contact time equilibrium, dose of adsorbent, and temperature were so investigated. Data of adsorption investigated with the Langmuir, Freundlich, Temkin and Fakhri models. Although, Langmuir model demonstrated a high value of R2, therefore, denoting to the monolayer coverage removal of the 17β-estradiol on γ-Fe2O3/NiO nanocomposites. The adsorption reaction was obtained to confirm pseudo-second-order kinetics. The parameters of thermodynamic including Gibbs free energy (ΔG), enthalpy change (ΔH) and entropy change (ΔS) were calculated. The results indicate the spontaneous and exothermic of adsorption reaction. The adsorption isosteric heats (ΔHX) were determined and represented the mechanism of adsorption was a physical process.
