Abstract

A Ultra-wideband tapered slot Vivaldi antenna with enhanced performance is proposed. By etching the (exponential and triangular) slots on both sides of the radiation patch and loaded dielectric, the gain of the proposed Vivaldi antenna is improved and it has the maximum increase at a lower frequency by 3.475 dBi and a higher frequency by 1.41dBi, and a moderate gain in the entire UWB, the peak gain of proposed antenna in range (4.5-9.3) dBi, also slots extended the impedance bandwidth at low frequency to 2.602 GHz, and thus the impedance bandwidth (2.602-11) GHz which covers the whole UWB. The size of the proposed antenna is ($40\times 40){\mathrm {mm}}^{2}$ printed on 1mm thickness FR4 substrate with permittivity 4.4, and the Vivaldi antenna is simulated by using computer simulation technology software (CST).
